Our Log In Anniversary
Wow...it is hard to believe that today marks one year from our log in date to China. September 20, 2006, is the date that our dossier (paperwork) was checked into the China Center of Adoption Affairs. We are now one year into our wait for Lydia!

This picture will have one more sweet blessing added!
Prayer Requests:
Pray for Lydia-- We do not know if she is born yet. But,more than likely the birthmother is pregnant or has already given birth. Please pray that God will comfort and help her as she goes through difficult days. Please pray for her health-that she would be strong and that her caregivers would love her and take good care of her. Pray that God will be preparing her little heart to accept love from us and that she will feel loved until we can get there.
Pray for her birthmother--As the mother of four children, I could not imagine feeling like I "had" to give up my baby. The pressure for these birth mothers is great and they often see no other option. Pray for this woman's heart- that somehow God would reveal Himself to her through this difficult trial. Also, thank God in your prayers that Lydia's birthmother chose life for her!
Our travel plans-- Please pray for us to have wisdom as we decide who should travel to China. This is the hardest part of the process for us. Our three options are the parents go, the whole family goes, or one parent with our two oldest goes. We want to do what is best for everyone.
That God would receive glory-- not us! We want God to be glorified throughout this process. He gets all the credit for this, because He is the One bringing it all about. We can rest in his sovereignty and love--pray that we will. . .
Kisses in the Wind
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.
I know you wonder where we are....what's taking us so long.
But, remember, child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always, I blow kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.
Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But, for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind
May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Long time lurker, delurking.
What a precious time you are in! The wait will be over before you know it, I'm sure, and now you get all this time to pray for her and dream about her in this "expectant" state. I'm praying for you as you wait.
Also, what a sweet picture of your kids! They seem so tender to each other. :)
This day is a milestone! Joining you in prayer...
PS - I responded to your comment - thanks for dropping by!
Here's a quote that frequently ran through my mind during our wait, "Next to suffering, waiting may be the greatest trainer in Godliness."
BTW, have enjoyed your beach pics.--we just returned from that area where we gave our girls (adopted from Russia in 2002) their first beach/ocean experiences!! It was a blast and so much fun to see them experience another "first"!
Many Blessings--you remain in my prayers during this time of preparing and waiting.
Oh how many more moons will there be before that sweet baby is under your roof? Won't it seem like eternity and then time passes so quickly once they come it will seem to have passed in a flash!
I am prayerful with the petitions you have given us and I am excited for your precious family as it prepares for growth.
Blessings Kim!
I have a feeling that we will adopt someday. It's just something that has been in my heart since my teen years, and I believe God is the one who placed that desire there. Especially since my husband also has the same "feeling."
So I am so interested in this adoption and will pray for sweet, darling Lydia, wherever she is (heaven or womb) and for her precious mother, whomever she is.
May God bless your family as you continue in this season of waiting. Waiting is soooo hard, especially when you don't have a definite end date in sight...
Kim~
What a great post!!! Praying that God continues to give you his grace as you patiently wait for the day to pick up sweet Lydia!!!
What a blessing, you and your sweet family will be to this precious little girl.
I'll be joining you in prayer for the needs you've shared!!
Blessing to you!
Lydia is going to be so blessed! I will keep your family, and Lydia's birth family in my prayers! What a wonderful Godly women you are.
Kim .. thank you for choosing adoption. I have been working with domestic foster care and adoption for almost 20 years and it warms my heart to see a family like yours making this decision. Thank you for sharing your story so that others can see it is NOT easy, but worth the wait, especially since you and your family are following God. I have been reading your blog for a while and it is so calming and encouraging. I will be praying for the days ahead and for Lydia and her mom, but especially that no matter what happens, God gets the total glory out of this season in your life.
A whole year already! Praying for you all.
Love the picture!
Kim,
Lydia's adoption story always reminds me of Christ and the adoption I received. It blesses my heart to see the love your family has for her, and reminds me of the love my Savior has for me. How cool is that! I will continue to pray.
God Bless!
Leigh
That means you are one year closer to having her! How awesome when she will join that picture!
Happy one year, my friend! May God bless you with great patience.
Happy Anniversary! I remember our one year anniversary and how conflicted I felt. Both excited for the milestone and sad that there was so much more waiting ahead. Lydia will be so blessed to join your family as will all of the rest of you for having her.
Kim, We're still following your journey. How exciting to be so close! You all have truly been a wonderful testimony of His plan and timing. God Bless!
I know you guys are eager to get your little girl. I will pray that you will continue to trust in God's sovereign timing.
Love,
Krista
China is now requiring that BOTH parents be there, for the gotcha day as well as the basic formalities, but they are no longer requiring that both be there the entire stay (though that could change).
Hmmmm.... my agency has not informed me of that...I'll have to check into it.
To anonymous,
I checked with my agency and they have said that the travel requiremnents are the same as they have been...one or both parents may travel. Most agencies recommend that both do travel...but it is not required.
I'm finally catching up on blogs and always feel blessed when reading yours!
Your family is so cute--I love all the pictures.
Happy ONE year LID anny! I pray the wait picks up and they start referring bigger batches.
I have something that I think you and your older girls may enjoy, it's the 4 dvd series from the Ligonier Ministries 2007 National Conference. It features: John MacArthur, Albert Mohler, John Piper, R.C. Sproul, R.C. Jr. & Ravi Zacharias. They speak on postmodernism & philosophy, apologetics, existence of God, Resurrection of Christ and other topics.
You can watch at your leisure and send back when you're finished.
If you think it would be of interest, let me know. I think you would really enjoy it.
