A Day In the Life....
I have been planning a trip to the zoo for a while. We have been waiting for nice weather..a great day to be outside and enjoy a picnic lunch. The day finally came...the girls had their piano lessons cancelled and the weather was going to be perfect, so we made it a zoo day! Fun!
The day was an eventful day for us. Another tire blowout. It felt like I hit something and the noise was so loud!!! I knew from experience what it was. Last time it happened to me, I thought a helicopter was flying right above my head...but I smelled burnt rubber, looked back and saw my Yukon smoking. If you want to read about that experience, you can go here. It was very scary for me. I was by myself last time and had to pull over on the shoulder where there was a rail, so I was very close to traffic. It was terrifying for me!!! This time, I pulled way over and ended up in the grass. I felt much calmer this time. Gracie is always a calm level headed young lady, so she helped quite a bit. Evie cried, but soon calmed down. Jack Henry thought the whole thing was so cool, especially when the policeman stopped to check on us. Abigail laughed right when it happened...which was not a good response...but we all survived it and have some pictures to share from our day. I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures...getting pictures was not the priority, just a last minute decision.
God was once again so very kind to protect us. He kept me calm (that is totally the Lord!) He kept my children safe and even helped them not be afraid. He provided a sweet man to help us and also allowed for us to still go to the zoo for a nice day!
Abigail's face when she realized what had happened...after she laughed and I said,"Do not laugh...this is an emergency!" I don't have a sense of humor until after it is all over!
Roadside assistance came to our rescue...after a call from my husband.
The blankie in our car comes in handy for events like this. We almost got out our picnic lunch and had a nice picnic...but we decided to wait for the park by the zoo.
On to the zoo...The giraffes are my favorite!
Our nice train ride to end the day.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Oh Kim....I certainly can feel what you must have felt when your tire blew.
Tnankfully it looks like you all were safe, and ended up having a GREAT time at the zoo!!!
Good is God...ALL the time!!
Love the face after the tire blew....too funny!
Also, now I know why I like you so much...your favourite is the giraffes! Mine TOO!!!!
Glad to know you still got to make it to the zoo!! I don't know if I would have had the right mindset to stop and take pictures on the side of the road! What memories!!
Looks like a fun day, even though it didn't start out fun! I haven't had a flat or a blow out in a long time. It's a terrible feeling!
I love that you all threw the blanket out and had fun even on the roadside!
We are also planning a trip to the zoo soon. We have had to postpone it b/c of the rain. I am glad that you all were okay and were able to make lemonade out of lemons. Love the picnic by the roadside!
