The Wait
As most of you know,we are beginning the waiting stages of our adoption. We were logged in(to China) on September 20,2006 and that began our wait. Our agency,Chinese Children Adoption International, is saying the wait is approximately 14-16 months now. This is an estimation based on how long it is taking right now and the projected wait if things move at the same pace. When we began, the wait was 10 -12 months....so for some reason, the wait is increasing a little. I'm sure there is a good reason. We are constantly being reminded through this process that God requires patience from us. He has been so gracious to us by allowing us to not get overly concerned or anxious about the wait.....we are actually fine with it. We know that God has the perfect baby for our family and it will take place when and how He chooses. Lydia was/is created by God and God knows what is best for her and us. We are learning that we can trust a perfectly good God to put into place His perfect providential plan for our family.

We do ask you to pray for Lydia and her birthmother....we do not the exact age Lydia will be when we go to get her,so we do not know if the birthmother is pregnant now,or if Lydia has already been born. We just ask that you pray for her caretakers....that she will be treated with tenderness and love. We are praying that she will have enough to eat and that she will be held and nurtured. We are praying, also, that God would reveal Himself to the birthmother and that she would put her trust in Him as her Saviour. We are very thankful that Lydia's birthmother has chosen life for her-because abortion is very common in China. Thank you for your prayers.

We know,in God's timing,Lydia will be with us. As for now,we are enjoying each day....and making the most of the time. Each day is a gift!

Kim, well put. Your right there is a plan for each of us even though we often struggle to see it. Human nature makes us (well most of us) want everything now. This will truly be a lesson in patience for me and it seems lately I don't have much of it. However, rather than pray for patience (don't forget Moses and the desert my grandma always told me,lol)I pray for peace, perserverance, and time to pass quickly.

HI Kim,
We will pray for Lydia and her birth mother and father. It would be awesome for her parents to come to the Lord and be able to see Lydia again in Heaven one day! I can't imagine the heartache they feel, along with other parents to allow their child to grow up without them. This was brought to my attention of things we may not realize or think about much in the book "Lost Daughters of China."

We are waiting to hear from our agency for our DTC. Hopefully this week. I'm also trying to have the mindset of being patient and taking the opportunity to prepare for our little one's arrival.
Darlene
