Hi,Kim! I just spent an hour trying to remember how to make links correctly. You just highlight the preceding phrase and click on the hyperlink icon above your text box, then copy and paste the address into the box that pops up. Now if I could only figure out how to get my pictures from my website server to my blog...

I'm so excited for you in regard to your adoption! And I return the compliment on your name choice. I love that song. :^)

Oh Kim, thank you for the link. See, I used to work in LR w/the Raineys. I thoroughly enjoyed this article from Barbara, whom I've admired for more than a decade.

HI Kim,

Thanks for sharing the article by Barbara Rainey. It's so true about not being so concerned with things that are so far away from our homes. What if these children were living amongst us in our communities, would more parents want to invite these children into their lives and homes?

What if we were the ones that found them at our door step left by someone who couldn't care for them or found them under a tree when we went on our morning stroll? Would we give the excuses of I don't have the money it takes, I don't have the resources, I'm comfortable the way our family is now..us four and no more.

Would we keep them or would we go down the street and give them to someone else who's already caring for 100 other children?

I know that adoption is not for everyone, but sort of reminds me of the verse about the man who is in need and the other man sends him on his way without helping him..just saying a few words only.

We can't adopt them all but we can welcome one into our home or send them some clothes or give money to the home where they stay. We can also help so many kids here too. So many opportunities to help these children both near and far.

I get that newsletter and loved that story - both the Chinese baby and the Rainey's story. I'm so excited about your new little one. Five is a nice, round number of kids!
