Thursday Thirteen

These are not resolutions, but simply some things God has impressed upon my heart, through reading His Word, to work on...to be all I can be for His glory. The christian walk is a marathon, not a sprint....so,I must keep up the pace and grow where and when it is needed. I am failing in some of these areas and need to focus on doing what is right...all the time....not just when I feel like it. I know none of us are perfect, but God's grace and sanctifying power can give us everything we need to be godly in this world. We just need to obey.....

My Thirteen for today are:

1) To be a more godly wife....Read Here

2) To be more loving, kind, and patient at ALL times

3) To show Christian hospitality more

4) To serve my children by nurturing their hearts

5)To read more so that I can work towards having a better Christian mind (Romans 12:1-2)

6) To put others before myself everyday

7) To live passionately for Christ--the passion has to be rooted in Biblical Truth

8) To encourage others in their walks with Christ

9) To die to self

10) To die to self more

11) To forgive

12) To love...really deeply love others

13) To be bold to share what Christ has done for me

Thanks, Kim, for sharing what God has put on your heart. I pray that my heart will be sensitive to the same things in this coming year!

That is a great list, Kim! And you're so right, with God's grace. I think it's good to seek God to see what we can work on in our Christian walk. I find if I don't write down what God is laying on my heart to change, I can quickly forget about it!

Hey, Kim, I am answering the question you left on my blog. . .

I do not have access to my CDs at present, but I believe the name of the CD is All Things New. It is one of my very favorite CDs - all the songs are good. The CD is like a dark goldish caramel color - if I remember right!!

Thanks for your prayers.

Kim thank you so much for the link on #1...this is something I need to concentrate on myself (and is made even more difficult since my hubbie isn't a Christian).
I am truly grateful for all the encouragement, support and love that I get from blogs such as yours. Thank you. Laura

Oh, Kim aren't #9 &10 so very difficult? They are the most important for me, because I can't attempt obedience to the others without laying down my own selfish agenda. I have certainly struggled with that this month!

Thanks for the springboard! Blessings for your day :)

Kim,
We all need to list those!
I love the article on "An Excellant Wife", one that is permanently in my file.

Hello,

I have been praying for God to really impress upon my heart some New Year's "resolutions".....things He would like to see me work on this next year..more than dieting and working out more...ha! When I read your post I knew exactly what I needed to start working on....I know that I need God to reveal MY OWN "thursday Thirteens" BUT I am going to borrow some of yours..ha! Your writing is so biblically based and you are such an encouragement to all of your "sisters in Christ" Especially ME!!! Thanks for seeking HIM and sharing what HE teaches you! Bless you!

This is the first time I have visited your blog. I love your pictures and entries. What a sweet heart you have and precious children. I can't wait to hear more about the adoption. We have always wanted to adopt a Chinese little girl!

Kim,
I REALLY appreciate you listing these. I am going to copy them down and keep them close by. All these are areas that I greatly need to work on. The longer I walk with the Lord, the more ugly sin I seem to dig up.

Dying to self is so very hard.

His,
Mrs. U
