God Became Flesh!
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son,and she will call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14
For a child will be born to us,a son will be given to us;And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,Mighty God,Eternal Father,Prince of peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,On the throne of David and over his kingdom,to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
And the angel said to them(the shepherds),Do not be afraid;for behold,I bring you good news of great joy which shall be for all people;for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son,and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, GOD WITH US. Matthew 1:23
Jesus was born a baby,it was prophesied in the Old Testament, many years before it actually happened....this is amazing to me,and gives absolute credit to the Truth of the Bible....God's plans were known many years before and it all came true just like scripture says. How can anyone deny this? And if anyone is reading this who does deny it,think about this question.....what if you're wrong....what if you're WRONG? Do you understand the seriousness of your disbelief? I pray you will search the scriptures for yourself to see God's beautiful plan of salvation...
I think it is amazing--God's perfect plan for this baby to be born in the way it all happened. Perfectly humble in every way...Meekness and majesty together in one little baby...God became flesh...do we really get this? It was God becoming one of us to reveal His glory to us...This amazes me every time I truly think and meditate on this Truth. And why did He do it? For me...and you. To save sinners from their sins, which causes Him to receive glory that is only due to Him. He is the Christ--the Son of the living God. Let us all bow the knee and worship Him.
But,He is much more than a baby in a manger. The New Testament has many names for Christ. Immanuel,God with us,is so meaningful to me...Thank you God for being with us! Here are some of the names of Christ for you to meditate and think on this Christmas season.
Jesus Christ is:
Immanuel--God with us. Matthew 1:23
The Door-- John 10:9 I am the door,if anyone enters through me,he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture.
The True Vine--John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches;he who abides in Me,and I in him,he bears much fruit;for apart from Me you can do nothing.
The Giver of Living Water--John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her,"If you knew the gift of God,and who it is who says to you,'Give me a drink',you would have asked Him,and He would have given you living water.
The Light of the World--John 8:12 Again, therefore Jesus spoke to them saying,"I am the light of the world;he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
The Bright Morning Star--Revelation 22:16 I,Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.
The Lion from the tribe of Judah--Revelation 5:5 and one of the elders said to me,"Stop weeping;behold, the Lion that is born from the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals."
The Lamb of God--John 1:29 The next day he(John the Baptist) saw Jesus coming to him and said,"Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
The Good Shepherd--John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords--1 Timothy 6:15 Which He will bring about at the proper time-He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Bread of Life--John 6:35 Jesus said to them,"I am the bread of life;he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."
Savior--1 John 4:14-15 And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son to be the SAVIOR of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God,God abides in him,and he in God.
O come let us adore Him,Christ the Lord.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Wonderful post for this Monday!! We must always keep in mind the true REASON for the season. God loved us so much that He came to live WITH us, to get to KNOW us in a personal way. Still blows my mind . . .
Preach Kim! I am going to be totally lazy and post a link to what you wrote because I couldn't say it better myself. What an awesome passion you show for the lost. Shouldn't we approach each and every day with the same grave concern? Blessings!
Wonderful wonderful. The prophesies of his coming amaze me too!
Thanks for those words. It is a blessing to read His Word as we celebrate His Son!
Great post Kim, the story of the birth of Christ never ceases to amaze me too! Thanks for the words and verses.
He is truly amazing, our savior and redeemer. I am also so thankful He is the Good Shepherd, guiding and protecting with a careful, gentle hand.
Awesome post!! The scripture verses you chose have such a good news message and are full of hope. I had the privilege of seeing "The Nativity Story" this weekend. I would definitely recommend this movie. It was full of scripture and very well done. What a wonderful post to read after seeing the movie. Thanks!
Wonderful Kim!
He is truly Amazing! Thanks for this reminder, Kim.
