On My Heart Today
With all the joy, family gatherings, and hoopla of the Christmas and New Year season,God has kept these sweet families on my heart. I have committed to pray for them as they are enduring such extreme trials and sufferings right now. It is really easy to get caught up in our own lives, our own goals, and our own dreams...but I hope I can encourage some of you to commit to praying for these families along with me.

Please pray for Amy,her husband, and baby boy,Gary. Amy has received a bone marrow transplant from her brother and has been able to be home for Christmas. Her recent bloodwork shows that she may be in remission. I'm so thankful for that! Please take time to read her story. She has a heart for the Lord that has pretty much taken my breath away as I read about her struggles, but constant faith.

Also, please pray for little 2 year old Micah. I can not imagine what this family is going through. My heart aches for them and I pray for them a lot...just for endurance to make it through each day...They seem like a family who truly loves the Lord and is leaning on Him for strength. But,it must be very difficult to see their baby boy going through this.

Claire and Eliot's family have been on my heart these last few months...their little babies have gone to heaven in just the last few months;I'm sure they are still enduring a lot of heartache-- missing their little ones. I often think about Claire's sweet family. Claire has other siblings and a big sister, just 2-3 years old...I wonder how she feels with her baby sister gone...so heart wrenching! With the beginning of a new year and new beginnings ahead of them,it may be easy for us to forget, but we must still lift them up before God...the tough times are still going to be around. The heartache probably does not ever leave them...I don't know, because I have not been through anything like this, but I have heard others say, that the days, weeks and months after such a heartbreak is when they need the prayers and encouragement the most. Let's not forget them.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:8

So true Kim! I personally believe, that if I've run across someone like that in blogland it is my responsibility to lift them up before the Lord. And while I have done that, during all the commotion of Christmas, it's easy to forget. Thanks for the reminder!

It is so hard to wrap my brain around these sort of trials. Their faith is a testimony. I appreciate your reminders for the need to pray for these families.

Thank you for the remimder. It burdens my heart. Amy and her strength is so inspiring. It is a reminder to praise God during the good and the bad.
I also think what a role we as fellow believers have to pray for one another. We may not know eachother but our Heavenly Father does. By name!! He knows each problem and heart ache.

Thanks for reminding me to pray. I've been keeping the Mooneys and Claire's families in my prayers, but I didn't know about Micah.

Prayers are going up today.

Indeed. I know how heavy your heart is. I've been feeling that for my friend who lost her little one. Just a reminder how big and mighty our God is - how he controls everything. Beautiful reminders.

SO true, Kim. When my nephew died, the hardest times were after the funeral, especially for my sister-in law. It was probably six months in when she had the hardest time of all. Even now, it means so much to her to have me (or anyone else) remember his death. Because she never can. God is good, and strengthens her.

One of the things I find most wonderful about blogging is the circle of prayer support. I'm glad that God has placed these families on your heart, and that you remind us to continually uphold them.
