It's crazy busy around here!

The painters are gone and everything looks really nice! I love the color of Jack Henry's room...such a great blue color!(Sherwin Williams Denim) We will be getting his furniture in the next few days. It is bought and everything, just still in the warehouse. Abigail's bright turquoise (how do you spell this word???) looks so fresh and beautiful with her new bedding. The bathroom is a gorgeous red faux leather look...it turned out so cool! Now, I am at the stage where I am needing to choose fabric for their window treatments. Jack Henry is going to have a simple tailored roman shade. I'm still thinking on the other ones. It will take about 6 weeks for all of the window treatments to be done...and that will be the final thing!
It is really crazy around here right now. The playroom in between all the children's bedrooms is just simply chaotic! Stuff is everywhere! Mike said last night...this is very similar to moving...moving four people around and getting everything organized in new spaces is moving! I do see the end in sight, though, and am looking forward to organization and order when it is all done! And, cleanliness...we are vacuuming and cleaning in places we have not seen in a while. That is really fun!
Jack Henry will begin speech therapy this week. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers for that! I really do think this is best for him.
Gracie got home from her mission trip this week, too. We were all so glad to see her!!! I missed her so much! She is such a blessing to all of us. She had a wonderful trip. She had the opportunity to share the gospel with a 10 year old girl in West Virginia. Could you pray for her?
Now to the point of this post. I am going to be taking a blogging break. I need to do this. I have a lot going on right now. I hope to visit some of you at times, but I think my computer time is going to be zilch for a while. I just need to focus on my husband as he works so hard...my children and their needs,(which are a lot right now), and my home. I am trying to be a *keeper of the home* and keep first things first. Honoring the Lord first...and trying to keep it all balanced in proper perspective is my goal.
When I return, I am hoping to have some pictures of our progress on the house. Thanks for sharing in our excitement with us! Thank you especially for your prayers for Lydia and us as we prepare for her coming into our family.
While I am taking a blogging break, there are some things you can do.
1) Please pray for Amy. She has become like a younger sister to me through her blog. I just love her and think we should all take the time to pray for her and her family. God has been so faithful to her.
2) Please consider and pray about how your family could help a fatherless child.
3) Worship the Lord each and everyday with your family...through reading God's word, singing, praying, and honoring Him through an obedient life.
4) Serve others. Maybe someone you know needs some encouragement, a meal, or a hug saying you care about them. Maybe there are needs in your church family that you can help with...maybe the bathrooms at your church need to be cleaned...be creative and serve the Lord with gladness!
5) Love your husband and children wholeheartedly....we really do not know what each day will bring.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Oh, Kim! I will miss you on your break, but I totally understand.
I can also relate to your "moving mess". Those crazy dustballs that are hiding under our furniture are out of control!!!
Blessings as you seek to be obedient in your first and most important calling.

Well, we will miss you, but I completely get it. Have a good break!
Kim,
You are a lovely, godly example to the young women who read your blog. May God use your husband and you, and your children, for His purpose and glory.
Kim, I will really miss you. I love your widsom and total uncompromising stance to defend the truth of God's word.
I understand your break. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Have a great break and see you when you return.
Kim,
I have been so very blessed by reading your blog. What an awesome way God has used you in my life! Even as you prepare to take a break from blogging, I am blessed by your words and example. How exciting to be preparing for Lydia. I am sure you will cherish every moment and have so much to share with her. We will continue to pray for her, her birth mother and your family as you prepare.
God Bless!
Leigh

We'll miss you. But I totally understand. You have to do what God is placing on your heart, for sure!
The renos sound like they are coming along nice. Those colors sound so great.
God bless you on your break and we'll look forward to seeing those pictures.
I will miss you Kim but will continue to pray for you and especially for Jack Henry. Calvin can't start speech therapy until September (through our county) but he is slowly adding new words each day already.
Kim, I will miss your insight, wisdom and sweet spirit. You inspire me to be more than I am. Take care of your family and we will be watching for updates on Lydia.
Yours is the second blog I check every morning (after Lots of Scotts).I will miss your wisdom, but will pray for your time away.

I will REALLY miss you, but I totally understand your need for a break!

I totally understand the need for a break! I'll miss you but I'll keep you and your family in prayer as you enjoy this time together!
I hope you'll share photos of the kids' rooms when you're finished!
Blessings~
You sound super busy right now...I totally understand your need for a break. You will be missed!
I'll miss you lots! I always look forward to reading what you have to say. You are always very encouraging to me. I, too, understand the need for a little break from computers. You are doing the right thing. Your husband and family should definitely come first. Looking forward to the end of your break! :)
sounds like your house is going to look beautiful - I love decorating too.
I have strugged with finding a balance when it comes to blogging and internet usage! It can so easily become a time waster - I have wondered how you and other blogging friends with multiple children keep up with it all. I will miss your posts, but will hope that you enjoy and benefit from your break. Praying for your Lydia.
Loraena
Enjoy your break, everyone needs a blogging break now and then. You will be missed though of course.
Love the photograph.
I affirm you in your decision! I have been there, and God has blessed my time away--as I know He will yours. I know the ladies in blogworld will certainly miss your wonderful posts and encouraging comments. I look forward to re-connecting when we both return!
Kim,
I totally understand! I'm close to taking a bloggy-break myself, but come back every few days. Last weekend at the Rebelution conference they talked about "dropping weights" and "picking up weights." Dropping weights that weigh you down ("casting every hindrance aside), and picking up weights that work you out (doing hard things -to make you stronger. I've been thinking a lot this week as I've been working in my house (and not blogging!) about what weights I need to drop and which ones I need to pick up. Sounds like you're getting a good "workout!" See you when you get back! :)
I loved this post - sounds like your priorities are lined up exactly as they should be, and you gave us all a reminder to take a look at ours. Enjoy your time away, getting things in order. xoxo
We are in the midst of living in some pretty major home renovations right now. Someday I will post pics... but I totally understand.
Lisa (Jon's wife at Deo Volente)
You have a beautiful blog. Looking forward to reading again when you return.
