It has been a great weekend...I have been feeling much better...it is not completely out of my system, but the weird feelings are much milder and less bothersome. I am so glad this is getting better. I have said this before, though, and have still felt bad at certain times. I have found out from a doctor friend at my church that the steroid shots I had were probably time released, which means it all could be still be in my system. Or that explains why they have stayed in my system so long. The extreme side effects are gone and what I am dealing with now is just mild. My wise doctor friend gave me some things to do...If you are interested, I'll share them with you. He told me to drink skim milk with whey protein isolate each morning with my breakfast. Studies have been done to show that this helps with brain clarity, energy, and moods. He said it is very good for alzheimer's patients, which I thought was interesting. I have been drinking this for a week now. I can tell a difference in my energy level...I have not had any caffeine in a while, because I don't feel like I need it anymore. I have been wanting to stop caffeine, so I am very thankful to not be craving it or needing it to wake up. I have also bought pomegranate juice concentrate (Brownwood acres) and I put about 1 tablespoon into water or fruit juice. This is a very high antioxidant and helps to detoxify the liver(where medicine and such can be lingering). I drink this once a day with my lunch. I really like it. I think these 2 things have helped as well as just time passing, too. I feel very healthy and am excited in some other changes I am making in my food choices! All of this, plus drinking lots of water and exercising has me feeling much better. If I ever get any type of hives again, I will be opting for a different treatment! I appreciate your prayers so much!

We had a very nice weekend. My husband went out of town with one daughter for her soccer tournament (we missed them!) and the rest of us stayed here and attended a wedding. The wedding was gorgeous...very simple, but the ceremony was so meaningful and Biblically focused. I would love to do something like this for our daughters one day, that is, if there is a young man out there that my husband will approve of...that is a big IF.

The weather here has been gorgeous! It has been so nice to get outside with the children. I have been enjoying lots of jogging and long walks in the beautiful sunshine and cooler temperatures. The leaves have not really started changing yet, but fall is definitely in the air!

We have been in a class at church studying the book *Age of Opportunity*...I'm hoping to post sometime on what we discussed this morning. It was so beneficial for Christian parents. The topic was on *It's a War Out There* and we focused on how to engage our children's hearts to know how to fight this war...the battleground is their heart. I highly recommend this book to anyone with children approaching the teen years or are already in the teen years. It has already been so helpful to us.

Enjoy your week!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! It's nice to have alternative treatments out there. I may have to try your milkshake. Does it taste good? I need to break my coffee crutch in the mornings.

So glad to hear that you are on the mend. It was interesting to hear about that milk and the pomegranate juice. I remember my massage therapist telling me that muscles also tend to hang onto medications. And deep tissue massage helped to release them and get them out into the bloodstream where it could be transported to where it needed to go to help the body get rid of it. Maybe that might help you out a bit too in getting rid of this stuff out of your system.

I'm so glad you're better. I didn't realize the effects had lasted this long. I'm so sorry!

I love Tripp's book, and his brother's as well. They have been SO instrumental in my parenting. I would love to be in a study like that, too. I can't wait to read your thoughts.

And, I agree with Susanne. You definitely should get a massage. :)

Kim,

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Hopefully you will be completely healed of this soon! :)

Way to go on cutting out the caffeine. I cut out caffeine and only drink water. Once or twice a month I may have a sprite or juice, but water tastes so much better! I will have to try those two treatments you mentioned. I could use a bit more energy!

God Bless, hope you are all better soon!

I can't wait to hear what you have been discussing about the book!...I have been slowly working through it (not that it is hard to read, just that I am reading several other things too). What I have read so far has been great and really helpful.

Our weather has been super here today, but it is supposed to get cold next week!

I hope you can feel completely better soon. I use lots of natural things for my arthritis that work really well, so I think more "natural" is the way to go.

So glad to hear that you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing the ideas from your doctor friend. I think I'll try the whey protein isolate--anything to help with brain clarity and energy. Once you hit 40, those seem to be challenges! Also, not needing the caffeine would be so nice.

Who is the author of the "Age of Opportunity" book? It sounds like a must-read.

I loved the book "Age of Opportunity". It's so positive when it comes to teens and doesn't expect them to turn into sullen, disagreeable people.

The author, Sheri, is David Paul Tripp. It is really good! His brother's book: Sheperding a Child's Heart was what convinced us to homeschool years ago! It ranks up there pretty high on parenting books for us!

Another one I recommend is John MacArthur's: Successful Christian Parenting.

I've been wanting to purchase Age of Opportunityh, but just haven't yet. I've heard it recommended by many.

So glad to hear you're feeling better!
