Perfect Control
Oh, how we love this beautiful place...and we will be here really soon! We love the beach in September...the people scatter, the beach is somewhat private, restaurants are not crowded, and the weather is usually perfect. Well, 3 out of 4 this time is not so bad. It looks like Gustav may be making land fall while we are there. I am praying for all the places in its path. We have never been there when a hurricane could possibly hit...so we are a tad nervous, but we are very thankful that the weather updates can tell us what we need to know to stay safe.

This is our third trip to the beach since we began our adoption process...we thought for sure in the beginning that Lydia would be going with us by now...God has other plans and we are trying to rejoice in those plans for us because God does know what is best. Seeing the beautiful majesty of our Lord in the strength and power of His creation--the waves, the vastness of the ocean, and the strength and control that is perfectly exhibited--even the great power of the storm that is approaching-- will once again refresh my heart to KNOW THAT HE IS IN CONTROL. I will choose to praise Him.

What a GORGEOUS picture! I love the line of your post where you said "even the great power of the storm that is approaching-- will once again refresh my heart to KNOW THAT HE IS IN CONTROL." So true and such a good reminder. Enjoy your trip!

I'm with you, sister, I LOVE to go out once all the crowds have thinned out. Almost everywhere is less crowded during the day....:-)

Have fun at the beach, it looks LOVELY!

Have a wonderful time! It is a beautiful photo.

I was just noticing, are you running 5-6 miles a day? Your ticker seems to move so quickly! I have a hard time running that distance every day due to time constraints. Would you mind sharing how you fit it in each day?

I am now running 4 miles a day unless I am really tired or have time constraints...then it is 3. Somedays I add 2 days worth of running on my miles in 2008 if I forget from the previous day. This week I have run everyday...but usually it is 5/7 days...I may walk some, too.

I run very early in the morning and get home in time for everyone to wake up and then I make breakfast...I take my shower a little later in the morning. That is how I am doing it right now. If I could leave a little earlier, I could get home and take a shower before everyone wakes up, but for now, this is working fine.

It is hard to have 30-45 minutes, but it is a priority to me, so I make it work.

What a great reminder that God is in control. I know I often try to control things in my life rather than looking to HIM for direction. Something I need to work on....

Hope the storm doesn't affect your vacation plans. Have a great holiday weekend!

That is a wonderful way to fit exercise into your day! My children are a little younger, all 7 and under and we home school as well.I am always looking for creative ways to incorporate exercise into my day.:) For now,my goal is to run 20 miles a week. Sometimes,I make it,sometimes I don't.

Hope you have a great time away and that the storm does not interfere. What a wonderful, scripturally sound reminder about Who is Sovereign and in control.
Thank you.

We go every September to the beach for the exact same reasons that you mentioned. Even way before we got Mallory, Ron and I would always go in September. We go to Gulf Shores, Al. Where do you all go?
I hope you are all able to go on your beach trip. We are going down the third weekend in Sept. I hope the damage from Gustav doesn't interfere with our plans either. We live about an hour and a half from the Gulf of Mexico so we are gearing up for the hurricane. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
