Some New Keepsakes...

William with his hat.

Snowball Susie...She is so sparkly and pretty!

Henry on a stick horse.

The beautiful Christmas girl, Mae with holly, that I tried to get at the ornament exchange. Isn't she lovely? Thanks, Judy, for finding another one for me!

Her sweet little hidden gift. She's my favorite!

I loved these ornaments, but knew I had no chance at that little girl at the party. We had her twice, but.......I can't believe you got all of them! I am going to have to go look online for them. Mrs. Judy said she bought all that Hallmark had. Enjoy!

I loved that little girl ornament with the present behind her back! I'm so glad you finally got one. The others are cute, too.

I love these too! Vintage or replica's are my favorite and they are so hard to find! I will have to check Hallmark ;)

Hope you guys are having a wonderful time enjoying this special season.

Sorry this doesn't have anything to do with the blog post, but I have to tell you something.

I first found your blog a long time ago when you left a comment on the Rebelution that mentioned that you had four children. I clicked on the link to your blog and was delighted by a number of "coincidences". First, my mom's name is Kim, I am one of her four children and she and my dad are in the process of adopting a baby girl from China. Basically, your family reminded me of mine:)

Now, a while later, I saw your name again in a comment on HopeRoad(one of my favorite blogs)and had to pop in to see if you had gotten your referal. Looks like you are still waiting as we are...

What's you LID? Do you think you still have a long wait ahead?

Alison,

Thanks for your comment! Our log in date is Sept 20,2006. At the pace that it is moving, we don't see this happening anytime soon. But, our hope and trust remains in God's sovereign plan for us.

What about your parents? When is their LID? How are they handling the long wait?

Wow! You guys have even longer than we do. Our LID is July 9, 2006. Isn't this a great way to learn to trust God's timing? It's been pretty hard on my siblings and I since we all feel like we are growing up without our little sister(her name is Anna), but it's hard on my parents too, since they didn't go into the process knowing that there would end up being atleast a 12 year gap between their two youngest children. It is comforting to remember that God knew all along!

Do you ever find yourself trying to put it out of mind because you know the wait is going to be so much longer? I think that's what my parents are pretty much doing right now. When we do talk about it we get so excited that the wait seems harder!

Does your daughter have a name yet?

Her name is Lydia. Going into this we thought we would wait 10-12 months for a referral....so yes, we are disappointed...but still trusting in His plans.

How old are all of you? I hate that our oldest could be in college when we get Lydia....that is something we never thought would be a possibility!

Lydia is a beautiful name!

When we started the process my one older sister was in 10th grade..She is now a college student. Fortunately she lives at home and simply drives to a university that's twenty minutes from us. But now, realistically, she could be married by the time we get Anna! I'm 17 and am homeschooled and spend more time at home than my older sister so I will hopefully get to spend some time with Anna. My two younger siblings are 14(Steve) and 11(Jenny).
Our family is in a very different season of life than when we started the adoption process. I wonder what it will be like for Anna as she grows up with most of her siblings already grown up? I think she will be spoiled rotten by all of us!

Actually, our adoption agency went out of business recently because of how the adoptions have slowed to a trickle. I think that with the economy the way that it is not many people are adopting, and certainly not from China. Do you think that will influence our waiting times at all? I like to think that if the CCAA isn't receiving any more dossiers, they could focus on just matching the children. Wouldn't that be nice!
