In Christ Alone
This is a song we sing at church sometimes and during our family worship times--it has become one of our favorites. It reminds us that our faith should be in Christ alone...we should not trust in anything else to save us....so often we think something we do can earn our salvation,or that somehow we can earn God's love....then we are humbly reminded that no-it is all Christ's work on the cross and God's redemptive plan. He does it all....He draws us to Him-we would never choose God on our own....He sanctifies us through His Word.... we can not take credit for any of it....but so often we do.

While praying for Elliot's family, Claire's family, and the Clark Family,I think the words of this song can be an encouragment to them as well as anyone else that reads. It can also aid in examining our own heart to see if our faith is truly in Christ alone.

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light,my strength,my song.
This cornerstone,this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter,my all in all,
Here in the love of Christ,I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless Babe.
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid.
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life,no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell,no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand.
Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I stand.
Til He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I stand.

I love that song too!!! And I love the fact that it has an "Irishy" type tune to it....it kinda makes me a bit homesick sometimes!

I think we will be getting our referral in January, though I am kinda secretly hoping December (but pretty unlikely!). Our LID is 12 October 2005. They do seem to be speeding up a bit, which is good for everybody.

I love that song! It is so powerful. And to see it written down like this also adds to it. Thanks for sharing that!
