How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

I sang this song at the top of my lungs last Sunday and felt the chills run down my arms at the profundity of these lyrics. I love, love this song, Kim. Thanks for publishing the lyrics. Just as powerful to read as to sing. I'll go to bed tonight with this one pumping in my heart.
This song is a blessing every time I hear it. Thanks for being the one to sing it.
I love this song! Thanks for posting it!!
This is one of my favorites songs that we sing at church! Thanks for posting it!
Magnificent hymn! It says it all.
I love this hymn/song Kim. We sang it at my dad's funeral (he had requested it, he loved it), so not only are the words wonderful but it always also makes me think of my dad, it will always be a favourite with me.
We sing this often at our church. The words are as powerful in print as they are in song. I absolutely love it.
Love this song!!!
