Non- Negotiables of the Church
In a recent post from Pulpit Magazine blog, there was some great information on the things the church should hold to no matter what. I thought it was very pertinent and helpful in the midst of churches having identity struggles...some don't know what they are holding to because the leadership is willing to jump on every new thing that comes along. We must know what the church is to primarily be. The foundation is very important. Once that is established, everything else is centered on those non- negotiables. They are:
1) A High View of God
2) The Absolute Authority of Scripture
3) Sound Doctrine
4) Personal Holiness
5) Spiritual Authority
To read the post, go here. It is excellent.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Thank you for sharing that. I've been a little discouraged for a few while now, and that was a blessing to read. It gives me some focus in what to pray regarding our own church and some of the source of my discouragement.
Kim, thanks for the link! I need to add this to my sidebar so I can check it every day. I really appreciate John MacArthur and his commitment to sound teaching. He has opened our (mine & my husbands) eyes to some serious errors in the church we were attending. I can't read enough of his stuff! Thank you for always speaking the truth so boldly! It is refreshing :)
Indeed. All essential.
I think it's really good. However, an ambiguous-sounding "sound doctrine" can open up a whole new can of worms! :)
Amen, amen!
I am going to check out the link. I am very concerned about the pattern of the modern church these days.
We need to be in God's Holy Word. All the hype in the world will be ....worldly- we need the truth of the Bible. It's not lacking anything. It IS enough.
Amen to all of that! so true Kim.
My church have been going through alot of changes. Some people don't like it so they left.I have been praying so hard for my church and Pastor.Like others have said thank you for sharing that.
