The Mall Meme
I have been tagged by 2 blogging friends, Rabbit and Leslie, for this meme. This will be fun! I do a lot of shopping online, but when I do get a chance to get out for a fun day of shopping, it would be nice to have my favorite stores in one place! Here is how this meme works:
These stores would be in my one stop mall:
1) Gap Kids and Old Navy in one big superstore. Wouldn't that be fun??? This is where I find most of the kids everyday casual play clothes. I especially like The Gap for Jack Henry's things. They have cute jeans and khakis...plus some cute sweater vests. They have great shorts and tees in fun colors for all ages. Just because I like a store, does not mean everything there is okay...I am very picky over the modesty issue and try to always consider that when shopping. That goes for all the stores I have listed here. The Gap seems to have some styles that are okay and the prices and sales are good.
2) Harold's for me...great skirts and tops for church. I love their classic styles...that have a some what trendy look to them. But, not over the top. Everything looks current and modern, but most styles are pretty modest. I just look to make sure the skirts are not too short...and if anything is sleeveless, I make sure there is no gapping or anything. I get most of my dressy clothes here and some casual nicer things. They have good sales, too!
3) A sports store...like Sports Authority. With 6 active people in our family, we are always in need of athletic shoes, soccer goalie gloves, knee pads, casual athletic wear, balls, pool toys, hiking stuff. This would be a must for us. Plus, my husband likes their casual clothes.
4) Ann Taylor for classic never go out of style clothing.
5) Maybe a small children's shop like the one in our town. I get a lot of the little ones' clothes there...like smocked dresses, little leather Mary Jane shoes, little sweet church outfits for Jack Henry...plus, they have wonderful baby gift ideas for expectant parents...and our church has a lot of people having babies all the time! I try to get gifts for those that I know well. This kind of store would be nice to have in a one stop mall! Usually neat stores like this are not in malls.
6) A department store like Dillard's or something. This would be good for my husband's clothing, cosmetics...(as long as they carry my favorite brands), nice clothing for everyone in the family, plus a good shoe selection.
7) I have to add one more...a Christian bookstore...that has recommended reading from John Piper, John MacArthur, and my pastor. It would not carry anything except what these men recommended. That would eliminate a lot of confusion. Christian bookstores carry all kinds of crazy stuff...have you noticed? It would also sell all the homeschooling curriculum and supplies we would need, plus a wonderful selection of Lamplighter books and Christian biographies, AND... wonderful God honoring music CDs. I'm not asking for much, am I?
My restaurant choices would be Jason's Deli and the Olive Garden. These are probably our favorite family type restaurants. I love Jason's Deli's salad bar!!! Everything there is so fresh and healthy! I like Olive Garden's salad, too. Salad and breadsticks make a great meal!
I'm not sure who to tag...so if you are reading this and would like something to post on, just let me know in my comments and I would be glad for you to participate! It was fun to do!
Most importantly: Tomorrow is a day of corporate worship with other believers. Please prepare to worship the Lord with a heart willing to serve and obey Him. So many times, we do not prepare for worship, but I think we should focus on Christ the night before-repenting of sins, etc, before joining with others to worship in spirit and Truth. I plan on doing this now. Will you join me in preparing our hearts for tomorrow?
You get to create your own Mall. Choose 6 stores that would definitely be included in your ideal one stop mall. Then as a bonus you can pick your favorite restaurant and fast food eatery to be located there, too. After you’ve created it, post it and tag some bloggers to join in the fun.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Would you believe me if I told you that where I live we have no ladies clothing stores. Oh the joys of living in a small town. Sounds like you have some wonderful choices to choose from.
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend.

I haven't heard of most of those stores. Well, Old Navy and The Gap, but the other ones, I've never heard of. Maybe we don't have them in Canada?
Thanks for talking about preparing yourself for worship. I don't do that nearly enough.
Kim, let me know what you are wanting to do for a faux finish...I can definitely help you with some tips to make it successful. You can email me: rachelanne@homesanctuary.com
Kim,
Great choices! My husband and I love The Olive Garden so much, that we drive almost an hour to eat at one. We have two bottles of the Olive Garden dressing in our fridge, so we can have Olive Garden salads at home!
I didn't know you could buy the salad dressing! Yummm...

I'd shop at a Christian bookstore like that! So many of them these days offer much that isn't so helpful or just downright WRONG teaching that I don't often shop at so-called Christian bookstores anymore (not that we have much like that to choose from in our small town anyway). And Olive Garden is our favorite, too - if only we had one in town....we have to drive over an hour to eat at one. I like all your choices for your mall!
You would have a full time shopper in me! Don't you wish we really could create this mall?!
Have a great week.
This sounds fun to make up! I think I am tagging myself! LOL ; )
The Gap and Old Navy all in one, yea I like the sound of that! :)
It's been so fun to see everyone's choices!
We have a gap outlet and talk about DEALS!
Mmm...Olive Garden's salad and breadsticks are yummy! I'll be shopping in your Christian bookstore too! Thanks for playing! :)
