What we really need!
I saw this *talk* with John MacArthur on Irish Calvinist this morning...so I had to share it here, too. If you are not in a church where Biblical preaching is the focus, then I pray you would seek out a church that would uphold the preaching of the Word, in and out of season. A high view of God also means a high view of scripture. Men who are gifted to preach the Word is a must and must be sought after, it is not a given in today's world.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

Wow, I totally agree. This falls right in line with what I have been thinking about this week as I have been thanking God for our Bible-teaching church and the gifted preachers He has placed there. Our pastor and teaching pastors have been really preaching Truth that has needed to be preached lately. It's time. Praise God for those preachers Whom He has anointed. May the Holy Spirit give us ears to hear.
Oh my. I totally agree and feel the same passion about it. I get so frustrated with MANY of the more vocal or visible "preachers" (term used loosely!) that are either about health & wealth, purely topical preaching, let's all feel good about ourselves, or complete heresy and yet soooooo many people fall for it. My biggest confusion comes when people who HAVE heard the Word and still allow such ramblings to be their benchmark as to how they live daily. Off the top of my head I can't recall the verse, but there is Scripture that says certain people will only hear what tickles their ears. I pray I am never that way. Let me seek, hear, know, and live Truth. Thanks for this clip!!
Oh Kim, my heartsong is expository preaching of God's Word! Draws me like a moth to the flame. Difference being the flame ignites me to study and serve rather than burning me to a crisp of ash. Great exhortation.
Kim
Have you ever told the story of how you found your church? What questions did you ask? What things did you look for? What was your criteria for allowing your kids to be involved in youth? missions trips?
if you've posted the answers to these questions already, my apologies and would you mind showing me where?
thanks, we may have an opportunity in the near future to re-locate and we'd be so excited to finally find a church with expository preaching as it's focus.
blessings,
jodi
As usual, he's right on! Thanks for posting this here. I may have missed it otherwise.
Thanks for sharing, Kim. I have been going through a lot of stuff lately w/ our church and a specific ministry my husband and I are involved in. I have been pouring over John MacArthur books. My mom loaned me his study bible and I really enjoy his notes in it. We are looking for a church now, sadly, most churches in our area are either too charasmatic or too seeker sensitive. (We just left a seeker church). We are praying God places us in a church that teaches His word! I don't want to be caught up in a false religion - and they are abounding everywhere - it is so hard to get away from them because they are infiltrating our churches.
Great video! It is so true, and I am so thankful to be in such a Christ exalting, solid Bible teaching church!! They are SO hard to come-by!
