Happy Birthday to Our Daughter

Daughter's Gift
By Robert Sexton

When I imagine
the life you will live,
I think of the pleasure
your presence will give.

I see the joy your smile will light
and the wonders you'll weave
when your dreams take flight.

I feel the hope
that will grow with your grace
and the difference you'll make
to each heart you embrace.

I imagine your life
as I know it will be;
for, my daughter, you've given
all this to me.

You are a blessing!

Dear Daughter,

It seems like only a short time ago since you were born...we were first time parents and so excited to have a beautiful daughter. We learned how to take care of you and did it as tenderly as we knew how. We watched you grow into a sweet happy toddler. You were always interested in books and wanted to be read to constantly. I can remember you sitting in your floor in your room as a 10 month old...you looked through all your books on your bookshelf...for 45 MINUTES! What 10 month old has that kind of attention span? You grew into a beautiful child...curious about all things, with an eagerness to learn. You learned very easily. God has definitely given you a wonderful mind. We have watched you as you have grown into a beautiful young woman...seeing you mature and thinking about others before yourself. You have a willingness to serve God in a way that is refreshing and so sweet! You are willing to give things your all, even if it isn't something you think you can do. You gladly take care of your younger sisters and brother...without complaining. And, as we told you during your birthday breakfast...you are a wonderful example to the other children in our family. It is a big responsibility to the the oldest child...but you have done it beautifully! We are so grateful for you and pray for you daily. God has a beautiful plan for your life. We are truly grateful to God to be the parents of such a lovely daughter. Remember to always strive to glorify God in your life...in everything.
Proverbs 3:1-6 Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart

3:1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
2 for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you.

3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
