Autumn Treasures

I wanted to share some of our fall photos with you before the Christmas season begins. I do not like to rush Thanksgiving or the beautiful changes that Fall brings. This is a gorgeous time of the year. But, once Thanksgiving is over, it seems the whole focus becomes shopping and lights...so to soak in this time of the year, I wanted to embrace the fall once more. The autumn blaze maple tree is in our front yard and it looks like this picture for only one week. Then the leaves fall off and it looks like a twig in our yard. We planted it 6 years ago when we built our home and it has grown a lot! I think it is such a beautiful tree...I just wish it stayed this color longer!

The table is the setting of our Thanksgiving feast we shared with my parents. It was a lovely meal and we really enjoyed sharing the questions from our leaves. I like doing that once we finish our meal...it keeps us focused on God's blessings and not the food. We sang this year which was nice. I had not planned that. I was just going to have our 2 older ones read the words to *My Heart is Filled With Thankfulness* by Keith Getty, but we decided to all sing it. It was a wonderful time of praising God together! That will go down as a special memory.

We have had a fun weekend! I typically do not shop on the day after Thanksgiving...I do not have any interest in that craziness...but we did make it into a few shops before seeing the Moscow ballet company perform the Nutcracker. The ballet was wonderful! Every year I like to take the girls to some special Christmas show...either a ballet, a symphony performance, or a show of some sort. This is always a fun girls night out! Today, I took my big girls to see Enchanted. I thought it was a cute movie, but the mean stepmother was a little intense. I especially did not like the giant lizard part...but, overall, I thought it was okay for older children. I really liked the character Giselle...so kind and innocent. Tonight we brought home takeout pizza and salad, and then decorated our Christmas tree. I guess it is officially the Christmas season around here. So, the pumpkins are all gone and our front door shines with bright white lights, shiny ribbons and a sparkly fruit wreath. And...the weather outside is frightful...very COLD!

I praise God for His beautiful handiwork and His wonderful skill at creating the seasons...and all their changes. Only an all wise God could do this! I know the God from the Bible is the one true God. In Him is my trust and comfort through every change.

Thanks for sharing your pictures! We went to see Enchanted, too. I loved it! It really made me laugh!!! And, with the exception of one little part, it was pretty clean, too, I thought.

Love the photos. We liked Enchanted, too, and I thought the same thing about the "lizard". Sweet movie overall! My husband keeps walking around singing everything he speaks. Pretty funny...until you're in public (then we simply put a little distance between him and the rest of us~ha!)!

ahhhhh! What a beautiful table for a Thanksgiving feast! Impressive!!!:)

We love how the fall is hanging on here - the leaves are still SO beautiful!!! But today, it is COLD!

I hit the craziness in the malls too on Fri, which I NEVER do! I did it....not so much for Black Friday, BUT because I had the opportunity to go shopping with Daddy home! It just so happened to fall on Black Friday! It was pretty crazy! And the one thing I wanted to get from the Black Friday sales....was sold out by the time I got there! : )

So glad ya'll had a fun-filled worshipful feast for Thanksgiving!!!

I love fall too and soak in as much of it as I can. I love your tree. You have such a great big front yard to display it.

The Thanksgiving table is beautiful and so nice that lovely memories were made!

Beautiful pics! The fall colors have been gorgeous here as well. I too try to savor Thanksgiving as it seems to be the forgotten holiday as we press on toward the commercialism and materialism that too often marks our Christmas...

I love fall too and really want to hang on to it, especially for the weather. I'm not ready for all the snow. Do you still run outside in the winter?

Beautiful pictures!

The pictures are just so beautiful. What a gorgeous table! With a tree like that, I would definitely want to pause and enjoy some more of fall before we get on to Christmas. Thanks for sharing Kim!

Happy late Thanksgiving!

God Bless!

We saw Enchanted as well while we were in Texas! I laughed out loud several times :) It was really cute and original. There were a couple of parts that could have been left out and that is always a bit aggravating.

Your table setting is gorgeous! I love the fall as well and since we never really had the changing of the seasons in Texas it is one of the things I love about Virginia.

Can you imagine what that tree will look like in 20 years?

Blessings Kim!
