We Are Home!

What a week...let me just say first of all, that I LOVE family vacations! Let me also add that even though I love going neat places and seeing everything and sleeping in a beautiful log house with breathtaking views---I am now exhausted! This trip was more tiring than our annual beach trip...I think it was because we were trying to do so much while we were there...we have never been to the Smoky Mountains before and we had lots we wanted to do. Mike and I were in bed last night after packing everything back up and we talked for a minute...Mike said..."Can we do this?" I said "Can we do what?" He said," Can we all go to China?" I said, "I don't know-I don't think we can." Everything is impossible at night when I am so tired....then when I wake up in the morning, I can accomplish anything, with God's strength...not my own, of course. So we went to bed last night thinking there is no way we can take all the children and go to China for 2 weeks...then this morning in the car on the way home, we said...okay, we can do this.

One of the highlights for me was talking with Mindy on the phone about possibly getting together during our stay there...she lives near where we were. It did not work out, though...I was so sad! I sure hated that it was an hour and a half drive between us. If it had of been closer, I think we could have worked it out...The day we were going to meet, we ended up having to go to Tweetsie Railroad because we were having a big family dinner on the next evening, so we had to be back for that. The other days did not work for her. But, we had a wonderful phone conversation and she sounds so absolutely adorable! Her blog is so sweet, I knew she must be just precious! If you haven't visited Mindy yet, go here. You will love her blog!

I am going to post some of the things we did this week and hopefully some pictures in the next day or 2. We really had a lot of fun! Thanks for praying for Amy while I was gone.

I agree, things "look" impossible at the end of a long and tiring day. Thankfully, His mercy is "new every morning", isn't it? :-)

Sounds like a great trip--just a little "rehersal" for your China trip. :-)

Welcome home! Family vacations are wonderful but it's always nice to get back home.

I can relate sometimes things "look" impossible...I agree it is amazing that we serve a God who enables us through Him so we CAN do all things.

Kim, I thought of you often last week. I knew it must have been the week you were traveling because you weren't blogging :)

We went to Blowing Rock/Boone on Saturday morning and I wondered several times if you were there at the same time. What fun that would have been to meet you and your precious family. I couldn't get over the weather there Saturday (only 75 degrees). So nice.

I'm not sure what all you did, but I do know what you were plannning. So, if you went to Tweetsie, Biltmore and Grandfather Mountain, you did a lot of traveling. No wonder you're tired!!

I'm so glad you got to visit. It truly is a beautiful place!

YOU are too sweet and I am so sorry it didn't work out, too! I really enjoyed talking with you and think we could have just had a ball!
IF you are ever back in the area let us know -we will work something out!
I have friends who just returned from China with their little girl....they took only their oldest child who is 6 or 7. They felt the other two were too small being 5 and 3 but I think it is a personal choice! I was sort of sad to see the 1st pictures with the little girl only included 3 of them.....
Glad you had fun on your family vacation!
And if I ever make it out your way - I will give you a call!
In HIM -
Mindy
