Recommended Reading
The book, Precious in His Sight: The Fine Art of Becoming a Godly Woman by Pat Ennis is recommended reading in our women's newsletter from my church. The recommendation from our pastor's wife says this:
God has given very clear direction regarding His will for us. First Peter 3:4 instructs women to cultivate the "hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God." This book practically and Biblically explores three areas of a godly women's life--her spiritual life, relationships, and emotions. Each short chapter is packed with a wealth of wisdom and concludes with a set of exercises to apply the material, using Scripture as the textbook.

I do not have this one on my 2007 reading list, but I am planning on reading it soon!

I deleted the last one. Thank you for the post on church discipline. I would like to attend a church that held accountability in high regards. I think my life would change dramatically.

I have read a lot of books on being a godly woman (yes, my quest is a continual one! :)) but not this one, so I must add it to my list. Thanks for your recommendation.

Also that verse has a special place in my heart. My parents gave me a picture with this verse on it when I graduated, I love it and love to be reminded of it. Thank you Kim.

That makes me want to get into 1 Peter 3 today. And then I can check the book out at Amazon, I love that Amazon lets us read excerpts.

Sounds good. I read a book by Pat Ennis a few years ago. I think the thing that stood out to me the most was the part about "short chapters." When you have small children and only get to read in little spirts, short chapters are a huge blessing!! Thanks for the recommendation!
