Monday Menus and a Birthday Celebration!
It is my birthday today and guess how old I am? If you guessed 39,you are right! I really don't feel a day older than 25...But,the reality is I am no spring chicken anymore! I still do not think I am really middle aged yet...just approaching middle age,but still young...that sounds good, doesn't it? Okay-I am young...thanks for the confirmation!

We had a little birthday celebration last night. I was showered with gifts from my sweet husband and darling children. I love gifts, don't you? That must be my love language(If I were to believe in such a thing),I felt really loved! : )... I love giving gifts, but getting them is kinda fun, too! My birthday is a great time to buy gifts,too...cause everything is on sale. My husband gave me a beautiful black wool coat...about knee length with a band around the waist and a collar(more like a shirt collar, not a blazer looking collar-does that make sense?) It is preppy, elegant, and perfect for me! I LOVE it! Now,if it will ever turn into a real winter around here,I'll wear it!

My other gifts were:

1) A gift certificate for a pedicure and manicure from all the children--love this!

2) Two books that I am wanting to read. Piper's *When I Don't Desire God: How to Fight for Joy* and *Loved by Choice*. These books were from Gracie and Abigail...I opened them and asked,"How did you know I was wanting to read these???" They said,"We read your blog,Mom...." Oh yeah....: ) I knew there was a good reason for having a blog....

3) My little ones along with help from their daddy got me the cutest pajamas...the cropped pants are light aqua with pink bottles of fingernail polish all over them with a pink v neck tee....so adorable and fun!

4) And of course, little Evie made me a beautiful picture.

The card from my husband was the best part! It says:

I will love you all of your days
I will believe in the dreams you hold
I will appreciate the gift that you are
With all my heart, today and always.

Because of you,I've discovered how connected two people can be.
How deep a love can grow...
and how faithful God is to His Word--
Our souls have truly become one.

Isn't that beautiful? He is such a wonderful and giving man! I am blessed and spoiled, yes,I know.

Now for the Monday Menus. Please go see Laura at Organizing Junkie for more menus:

Monday-- Crock pot chicken and rice, dinner theatre green beans, garlic toast.

Tuesday-- Honey Baked Turkey breast, creamy corn casserole, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top...it's Thanksgiving in Jannuary!

Wednesday--Church night,eat out

Thursday--Chicken,broccoli,and pasta in an alfredo sauce, french bread

Friday-- Chicken and Dumplings, baked baby carrots, black eye peas

Saturday-- Cajun Vegetable soup. Recipe follows:

Cajun Vegetable soup:

2 lbs of sausage
2 cans veg-all
2 cans black eye peas
2 cans diced tomatoes(sometimes I use just one)
1 can Rotel(I use mild)
1 can corn
1 can tomato sauce (small one)
1 chopped onion

Brown and drain sausage, add next 7 ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes-1 hour. Makes a delicious, somewhat spicy soup. You can make it hotter if you want.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Happy, happy birthday to you, Kim!

You've certainly been showered with lovely gifts from your family!

And that Cajun vegetable soup sounds yummy! Can you remind me what Rotel is. I don't think you can get it in my area of Canada, but may be you can suggest a substitution?

I know what you mean about real winter weather. I cannot believe it's January and we didn't even need coats today. Weird.

Hope you have a wonderful day, today.

Happy birthday! I too will turn 39 this year and feel it cannot possibly be so. I wonder, do you ever get over feeling like you're 25 and holding? Of course, by the same token, I would much rather be the me I am today than the me I was then. With age comes...well, certainly more than just wrinkles and gray hair!

Be blessed this year!
