Some Friday funnies from my almost 4 year old,Evie
Tonight,as I was driving to pick Abigail up from basketball practice,Little Evie was sitting in the very back of our SUV and we had this conversation:

Evie: Mommy,is that a hotel?

Me: No,sweetie, that is an apartment building.

Evie: What is an apartment?

Me: It is place where people live...it has a kitchen, bedrooms, living room, etc.

Evie: They do not live in a house? (very confused)

Me: No,the apartment is their home.

Evie: Did the wolf blow their house down?

Another day not too long ago,I was very patiently(trying to be patient) explaining the doctrine of sin and how we all deserve death...I explained how Adam and Eve ate the fruit and then had to die because of their disobedience.

Evie said: Are you going to die?

Me: Yes,I will one day...

Evie: Are you a grandma yet?

Me: No,not yet...(trying to get back on the subject)

Evie: What are those lines on your head?(pointing to my forehead)

Me: Those are expression lines...everyone has them....and as mommy gets older,I will have more.

Evie: Because Adam and Eve sinned, you have lines?

Me; Well,kinda....

End of that discussion.....

So cute and so sweet. I sure miss having one that young at my house. I love the perspective of one Evie's age.

Thanks for sharing, Kim!

That is so cute, Kim. Our Ella is on the BIG BAD WOLFE kick right now. She doesn't understand just yet, that it's a story. When we put Ella to sleep, she thinks the BBW is outside her window. She is pretty hung up right now.

Does Evie like the story of the 3 Little Pigs? How old is Evie again. Ella will be 4 in March. I noticed that she also got the same doll house as Ella. Does she play with it a lot? Ella not so much. She rather be playing with her firetruck...YIKES. I hope Lily plays with Dolls.

I just read your comment to my post. 'Discernment' is key, you are so right. And, we do have to use discernment even in Christian circles, which is frightening, isn't it? If I let my guard down at church or any other Christian environment, my children can still be deceived and led astray. This is where I have to remember there is ONE is far more capable to protect my children. It's a little un-nerving, isn't it?

Thanks for your comments.

Oh, how cute! I'm sure I read that in one of my systematic theologies..."because Adam and Eve sinned we have lines." Hey, one day we will be presented WITHOUT spot or WRINKLE!!!

Oh, how I wish I would've had a blog when my 2 were Evie's age. What a priceless conversation! And yes, I do believe we can blame wrinkles (and well, all other age-related woes, on original sin. LOL) Thanks for the fun post!

My daughter always had a hard time understanding the difference between a hotel (where she had stayed a couple of times and enjoyed) and an apartment. At any rate, she decided she would love to live in one (either one). She's 8 and I think she still thinks it would be cool.
