Before and After--Upstairs Bonus Space
First of all, thank you all so much for the encouraging birthday wishes! I was overwhelmed with your kindness when I came to check my commments. What an outpouring of support and love for this *over the hill* girl! I really never thought about being *over the hill* until one of Gracie's good friends teased me about it. So, thank you, Brittany for bringing that to my attention. :/

As most of you know who have been reading my blog, we had our bonus space upstairs remodeled last summer to be come a bedroom and bathroom for our oldest daughter. It turned out really nice and we are very glad to have the extra bedroom. I think later on it will be an excellent guest room. I love going up there, it has a cafe chic feel to it...which was exactly what she wanted. Gracie picked out almost everything herself and I think she did a great job! Her favorite part is the built in bookshelves. She has 210 books in her library now. The room before was a plain, drab, boring room for extra storage.

Before the renovations, but after they added the dormer and walls:

And After...

We think it turned out better than we expected...all the early mornings of having construction workers in our house was all well worth it.

I was looking so forward to seeing each room...and I am not disappointed. I love it! My favorite part: The window treatment and the window seat! She did a great job picking it all out! What an eye for decorating!

Just beautiful! I'm sure you'll get many encouraging comments. Your daughter must feel soo blessed.

I am always curious where you find your beautiful things as I'm not a very good shopper. I love the bedding. Would you mind sharing where you found it?

Sure...the bedding is from Target. It was bought last year, so I don't know if they still have it. Everything was purchased on a budget and most of it was steals...either on sale or from a discount store!

What a wonderful *get-a-way* bedroom for your daughter. As I'm sure you are well aware of....teenage girls LOVE, and need their space.

You girls certainly could do interior decorating!!!

Great job.

Your daughter has such sophiticated taste for her age! I love the "pop" of red that she added! She should consider a career in interior decorating!

Kim, I was looking at your sidebar and it looks like you run, walk and bike. Is that how many miles you've put in so far this year? I run too, although I don't run as much in the winter as it rains too much for my taste! but i average about 2-3 miles 4 to 5 times a week. Anyway, just curious..

I love it! You know we have been in the middle of this process for the last few months and I am sooooo ready for it to be done! We added a family room and it has been fun to design it a little different from the rest of the house. Gracie has such beautiful taste :) I love the window seat. I had a bay window seat built in the family room and I am anxious to have someone make a cushion for it. My girls are so excited for a reading nook!

My Hayden's room looks just like Jack Henry's room. I think we have the same paint color and the same color furniture.
