Before and After--Upstairs Bonus Space
First of all, thank you all so much for the encouraging birthday wishes! I was overwhelmed with your kindness when I came to check my commments. What an outpouring of support and love for this *over the hill* girl! I really never thought about being *over the hill* until one of Gracie's good friends teased me about it. So, thank you, Brittany for bringing that to my attention. :/
As most of you know who have been reading my blog, we had our bonus space upstairs remodeled last summer to be come a bedroom and bathroom for our oldest daughter. It turned out really nice and we are very glad to have the extra bedroom. I think later on it will be an excellent guest room. I love going up there, it has a cafe chic feel to it...which was exactly what she wanted. Gracie picked out almost everything herself and I think she did a great job! Her favorite part is the built in bookshelves. She has 210 books in her library now. The room before was a plain, drab, boring room for extra storage.

We think it turned out better than we expected...all the early mornings of having construction workers in our house was all well worth it.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

That is a gorgeous room!
I was looking so forward to seeing each room...and I am not disappointed. I love it! My favorite part: The window treatment and the window seat! She did a great job picking it all out! What an eye for decorating!

Just beautiful! I'm sure you'll get many encouraging comments. Your daughter must feel soo blessed.
I am always curious where you find your beautiful things as I'm not a very good shopper. I love the bedding. Would you mind sharing where you found it?
Sure...the bedding is from Target. It was bought last year, so I don't know if they still have it. Everything was purchased on a budget and most of it was steals...either on sale or from a discount store!
What a wonderful *get-a-way* bedroom for your daughter. As I'm sure you are well aware of....teenage girls LOVE, and need their space.
You girls certainly could do interior decorating!!!
Great job.
What a great room! I LOVE it! She has excellent taste!
Wow! VERY nice!
Absolutely one of the most gorgeous rooms ever!! I love everything about it & especially love the window seat! Wonderful job! Thanks for sharing!
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Jennifer :-)
That is utterly GORGEOUS... I just decided that's exactly what I want my future apartment to look like.
Your daughter has such sophiticated taste for her age! I love the "pop" of red that she added! She should consider a career in interior decorating!
In Christ,

Kim, I was looking at your sidebar and it looks like you run, walk and bike. Is that how many miles you've put in so far this year? I run too, although I don't run as much in the winter as it rains too much for my taste! but i average about 2-3 miles 4 to 5 times a week. Anyway, just curious..

That room is gorgeous, Kim.
I love the colors! She did do a great job decorating.
I want her room! It's just gorgeous and that bed is incredible.
Gorgeous! We are just beginning some renovations ourselves (we don't have "bonus space" but we are creating some!) so these pictures give me hope!
Great job!
Wow!! I know she's really going to enjoy that room. It's a beautiful get-away.
Wow - beautiful - she did a great job picking out everything!
WOW!!! Looks like an interior decorator did that room! I love it! It is very sophisticated. Great job girls!

From one designer to another - Gracie, you did a wonderful job! Your room is warm, cozy, the colors are great and it looks very cafe chic indeed!
That is absolutely STUNNING! You all did a great job and I think I'll be there in a day or two for a retreat! ; )LOL.
Grace's room looks just gorgeous! She is going to love having this space for herself. She did a great job picking everything out. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
I love it! You know we have been in the middle of this process for the last few months and I am sooooo ready for it to be done! We added a family room and it has been fun to design it a little different from the rest of the house. Gracie has such beautiful taste :) I love the window seat. I had a bay window seat built in the family room and I am anxious to have someone make a cushion for it. My girls are so excited for a reading nook!
Beautiful...WAY nicer than my room! :)
What a stunning room! I love the idea of the table and chairs for a desk. So pretty!
I also love how clutter free it is. Well done!
Beautiful! I'm sure she loves it.
What a beautiful bed! Do you mind telling what line of furniture it's from?
Wow, Gracie! Beautiful room!!!!! Her bed is beautiful. I love it.
This room looks like her! She did a great job of making a haven for herself. Hope you guys have a good week. I didn't get to see you yesterday, but hope you guys are doing okay. Blessings on your week!
Beautiful!
Gorgeous! She has such sophisticated taste for a teenager! I think I was into lavender and violets when I was her age. =)
That is so beautiful! Can Gracie come decorate my bedroom? I just love it! :)
God Bless!

The rooms look great!
happy Belated birthday!!
My Hayden's room looks just like Jack Henry's room. I think we have the same paint color and the same color furniture.
