Last Night's Storms
It was a devastating evening as tornadoes and bad thunderstorms with strong winds whipped through many southern states, causing loss of life, many injuries, and destruction. Last night was one of the most destructive storm systems that has gone through the southern region in February. We were all safe here, but I feel badly for those who have gone through so much during the last few hours.
My heart goes out to all those hurt by the storms...especially those at Union University. From what I can gather from the news, no one was killed there, but there was great destruction on the campus and injuries. I can't imagine the fear that went through those students as they realized how bad it was. God was with them and He protected them! You can read a little about it here.
Let's all pray for those who have lost love ones and are injured. God can and will comfort them during this tragedy.

I am a stay at home mother to 4. I am very blessed to have a godly husband who loves the Lord and his family. I welcome the days of much needed grace, the times of sweet victories, and the tears of trials, knowing it is all for God's glory. I want my lifesong to sing to Him,the author and finisher of my faith. Soli Deo Gloria--To the Glory of God alone.

I'm glad your safe! I am watching Fox News now and the pictures are so sad! They just interviewd some students from Union on the phone....I can't imagine going thru that. I'm keeping the victims in my prayers.
It was a long day watching the weather. We have 2 students from church who attend Union, but are okay. The Higginbothams also live in Clinton which was hit. They are fine but without power. We are very protected and blessed!
I just heard about this a couple of hours ago. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and grieving.
Kim, we spoke once by email and I love reading your blog. I'm from Jackson, TN and actually attended Union University from 1993-1997 and lived on campus. We live about two minutes from the campus. It was pretty scary last night. This is the third time the campus has been hit, but this one was by far the worse. My parents also live in Jackson and the tornado passed through their neighborhood, but their house received minimal damage. Praise God. Thank you for your prayers and concern.

Lori,
I am so glad you are okay!!!
I didn't know you went to Union...we will be visiting there next year for our oldest daughter.
Kim,
Union is an amazing school! Attending there was truly a wonderful and maturing time in my life. Everyone there is like family and Dr. Dockery is an excepitonal leader!! I would love to meet you when you come to visit.
Sincerely,
Lori

I'm so glad you are all ok. This has been on my heart all day, I am praying for those affected by it.
We are in the middle of a winter storm, but I'll take snow over tornados anyday.
Blessings,
Sue
I'm so glad you and your family are safe. We're praying here too.
Glad to know you are safe. This is the time when we should ALL pray for the families surrounded by this terrible weather and the recovery.
