Resting
Just a little update on our family and the illnesses that have been passed around: All of my children are well and doing lots better. I became sick last Saturday evening after Evie's birthday party. I had pretty bad chills, fever, and body aches. I thought this was probably the flu. On Monday night my fever was down, but I had this strange shoulder pain that came on very quickly. It felt like a pulled muscle or something. I waited a few days and then on Friday went to the doctor. My left shoulder was still feeling very achy and my chest hurt pretty badly when I breathed deeply. The doctor ordered a chest x-ray and yes, I have pneumonia. And it is on the left side...where the shoulder pain is.

I am on antibiotics now and am hoping to feel better soon. I am so tired! I feel better for part of the day then get exhausted and my chest starts hurting again...and I cough some. I have also had shortness of breath, which is not fun. My fever is gone, though...so maybe this will be mild and easy to get over.

My doctor said it sounds like we all have had the flu...and mine turned into pneumonia! And I am the healthiest eater of us all!!!!

Would you pray this round of antibiotics will work and I will get over this? I would really appreciate that so much!

If you have noticed I am keeping up with my miles for 2008...it may be at a stand still for a while...he said no exercising. Okay--I guess my body needs all the rest it can get for now.

I feel for you. We are in Alberta and I like you exercise and eat very healthy and the last 7 weeks have been battling non stop viral infections and finally a sinus infection. My family has been down and out periodically through this time too. The kids are better and I am thinking the meds me and my husband are on have slowly started to work too. Exhausted doing very minimal tasks also. It is very frustrating but I think the Lord was showing me that I need to lean on him and others through this and ask for help. Not a one lady show:) I do hope you are up and on the mend. Again I love your thoughts and wisdom on your vast coverage of topics!

Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so wonderful and worthy to be praised. Thank you for such a wonderful sister in Christ, please give her a supernatural healing to this illness and I also pray that You will heal all of her family.
We thank you for all the many blessings You have bestowed on our families--praise You, Lord. Amen

I don't know so that's why I'm asking this maybe dumb question- does getting pnuemonia depend on what you eat? I mean, I get that a healthy immune system is a good thing to helping one remain healthy, but isn't pnuemonia a virus or an infection? LIke I said, I don't really know much about it- so that's why I asked :)

I'm praying God's healing hand on you!

Well, I guess I meant that eating healthy should help me fight off these kinds of things...I got sick anyway. Yes, pneumonia is either bacterial or viral.

Praying Jehovan Rophe, the Lord our healer will provide healing for you and that the meds work for you. It is a good thing that everyone else is better, so you can really rest your body and rest in His arms.

Kim,

I found you through Deidre at 'For such a time as this'...

I was just in the ER with my sister who has pneumonia and her mother in law now was admitted into the same hospital with pneumonia. TAKE IT EASY. If you start feeling better...TAKE IT EASY...there is a difference between better and well.

Blessings, Joanne

Kim,

You are definitely in our prayers. Dallas and I still have the occasional coughs, so this stuff has stayed with us. I pray that you are recovered from all this quickly.

God Bless you all!

My mom had pneumonia earlier this year and it took quite awhile to heal; you NEED to rest so that it doesn't get worse! Praying you feel better soon!

Whatever you do don't take any steroids. ;o) Praying for speedy recovery!

Jill,

I know--that would be a nightmare!

My doctor, who is a friends of ours, mentioned that he could just give me a steroid shot(he was joking)...I just kinda smiled and said no thank you. Apparently they do use steroids to help clear up the lungs...none for me, though.
